One thing you can say about Joy Behar, she never lets the truth get in the way of a good lie.
Even when her own co-hosts know she’s wrong.
And The View’s Joy Behar just told such a big lie about Colin Kaepernick, even Whoopi Goldberg was stunned.
It’s a wonder The View is still on the air.
The sheer number of gaffes, lies, mistakes and downright misinformation presented on a daily basis by the unpleasant co-hosts would result in the firing of most anyone else.
In fact, Whoopi Goldberg was recently caught in a racist rant about the Holocaust, something that would result in the immediate dismissal of literally anyone else.
But Whoopi received a mere slap on the wrist.
Now, her co-host, Joy Behar, has been caught in a blatant lie that has social media buzzing with the absurdity of it all.
On a recent broadcast of ABC’s extreme left-wing daytime talk show, self-described comedienne Joy Behar made the absurd claim that ex-NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick was “thrown off the team” for praying on the sidelines.
She was, of course, talking about when he took a knee during the National Anthem to protest the “evil, racist, United States.”
Behar’s fact-free statement came as the women of The View discussed the recent Supreme Court decision ruling that correctly said a high school coach from the state of Washington was improperly fired for praying on the field after high school football games.
Colin Kaepernick, of course, was the backup quarterback for the San Francisco 49ers when during the entirety of the 2016 season, he took a knee during the National Anthem in protest against America.
After 2016, he chose to become a free agent, opting out of the final year of a deal with the 49ers that would have paid him upwards of $17 million in order to sign for more on the open market, but no team signed him, due to a combination of his lack of on-field issues and off-field media storm.
He has been out of the league ever since.
But these facts didn’t stop Behar.
And although Kaepernick has never once mentioned “praying” and has always maintained his actions were purely a political protest, Behar is suddenly claiming that Kaepernick was “praying” all along.
So therefore, his actions should be covered by the Supreme Court’s ruling on prayer.
But of course, Joy Behar isn’t just wrong on one count, she is wrong on multiple levels.
In fact, Behar clearly doesn’t have a clue what she is even talking about.
Because even if Kaepernick were praying when he took a knee, the Supreme Court case the ladies of The View were discussing would not apply to him.
Kennedy v. Bremerton School District concerned a taxpayer-funded county school district and its firing of a teacher/coach who’s only offense was exercising his First Amendment rights where students could see him.
In other words, it was a citizen versus government case, whereas in Kaepernick’s case, all sides involved are private citizens, with no government interests involved.
And besides all that, Kaepernick was never “thrown off a team” for his protests.
He had a contract with the 49ers and he made the decision to walk away from that $17 million on his own.
And he simply never found another team stupid enough to sign him after that.
Maybe Joy Behar should sign him.
