Donald Trump awakened millions to the fact that the so-called mainstream media are in bed with the Democrat Party.
But many still don’t understand how deep the problems run.
And shocking emails between The New York Times and the Biden administration prove the news is faker than anyone thought.
The Biden administration recently asked the corporate press to put out favorable stories to prop up Joe Biden’s economy, and the press obliged.
And this type of biased cooperation is happening constantly behind the scenes.
Thanks to a FOIA request, The Federalist obtained emails from the Department of the Interior that show a pattern of behavior where The New York Times worked with the Biden administration on positive stories.
Last August, New York Times environmental reporter Coral Davenport wrote to Interior spokeswoman Melissa Schwartz regarding the Biden administration’s efforts to appeal a judge’s order reversing a ban on oil and gas leases on federal land.
Davenport wrote to Schwartz:
“I’m trying to understand what exactly is new – the decision already required the administration to resume leasing…We will not do a story about the appeal – I’m just trying to understand what, beyond the appeal, is substantively new.”
Schwartz responded, “More than happy for you to not write.”
And Davenport never wrote a story about the appeal.
Worse yet, Davenport apologized for her softball questions, saying:
“Sorry we are so annoying w oil & gas lease Qs…Could you give a call? Interested in what else might be coming down the pike.”
On a separate occasion, Times writer Elizabeth Williamson begged Interior Secretary Deb Haaland to sit for a puff piece profile.
After Haaland refused, Williamson all but assured it would be a glowing profile.
Williamson wrote to Schwart:
“I do think it’ll look a bit odd since so many of her colleague[s] sent and friends have spoken w[ith] me…This sometimes happens on tough stories but rather a mystery here! … I still hope she will reconsider.”
Haaland acquiesced and agreed to the interview.
Afterward, Schwartz wrote to Williamson, “I just wanted to say that I thought the profile turned out really lovely.”
It goes without saying that the Trump administration did not get that type of coverage from the media.
Mandy Gunasekara, Chief of Staff for the EPA under Trump, said:
“We had reporters straight up tell us they wouldn’t come cover events because they would never write a positive story about the Trump administration…And then there were other instances where they would just straight up spread false information.”
“The media does a disservice to the American public and sound policy-making by not informing the public of the progress this nation has made,” Trump-era EPA Administrator Andrew Wheeler said during a speech at the National Press Club.
Far-left activist posing as a journalist at Yahoo News, Alexander Nazaryan, chopped up Wheeler’s quote to put the Trump administration in a bad light.
Nazaryan wrote, “‘The media does a disservice to the American public,’ by reporting on global warming, says EPA head Andrew Wheeler. Wants more positive coverage.”
That bogus headline was liked and retweeted hundreds of times, including by Times reporter Lisa Friedman.
Multiply these incidents by 100, and that represents what one news cycle was like during Trump’s time in office.
Media bias is far worse than most Americans realize.
