Bobby Pulido Shared a Stage With a Predator and Claims He Never Knew

In May 2018, Bobby Pulido performed at a middle school benefit alongside a convicted child predator.

Texas Democrats recruited him for Congress anyway, and now his own words are contradicting his story.

What Bobby Pulido claims he never knew is not what he said in 2019.

A Middle School Benefit Concert With a Registered Sex Offender on Stage

Pulido is the Latin Grammy winner Texas Democrats picked to flip the 15th Congressional District against Monica De La Cruz.

In May 2018, he performed at a middle school benefit concert alongside accordionist Frankie Caballero, a registered sex offender convicted in 2014 of indecent sexual contact with an 8 year old child.

Kids were in that audience.

Pulido's campaign says he had no idea about Caballero's conviction until April of this year.

A 2019 podcast appearance says otherwise, with Pulido himself describing the time he bailed Caballero out of jail.

He had also joked on stage back in 2018 about Caballero being "a bad man."

Asked about the timeline, Pulido's campaign had one line ready: "The only reason Republicans are digging up this nothing story is because Monica De La Cruz herself admitted he is surging in this race."

That is a deflection, not a denial.

A Decade of Posts Pointing Fans to XVideos and YouPorn

The predator on stage was not the only thing Pulido's campaign hoped voters would never find.

Back in 2013, Pulido told his followers that when they got bored, they should go watch YouPorn.

That same year, he reposted an XVideos link with a caption about watching homemade porn while sleep deprived.

In 2014, he wrote that "it's impossible to have Twitter and not watch porn."

A 2015 YouPorn link went up on his account, which he later blamed on a hacker.

When XVideos briefly shut down in 2016, Pulido had a message for his grieving fans.

"To everyone crying over the shutdown of XVideos, I'm telling you there are other free sites," he wrote.

In 2024, while actively courting South Texas voters, he reposted an image of a fan caught in a compromising position at one of his concerts.

That is not a rough couple of tweets.

That is twelve years of a pattern.

The Night He Urinated on Trump's Hollywood Star

The porn posts are not even the strangest thing in Pulido's feed.

In 2016, he posted an Instagram video of himself urinating on Donald Trump's star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

His caption read "when you gotta go, you gotta go."

He has since scrubbed the video, along with a pile of other anti-Trump posts, from his accounts.

He also showed up in a bloody Trump costume as recently as early 2025.

Asked about a 2016 music video by fellow Mexican singer Gerardo Ortiz, "Fuerte Mía," in which the narrator shoots a rival, gropes and chokes his girlfriend, then handcuffs her and stuffs her in a car trunk before setting it on fire, Pulido did not exactly denounce it.

"I've made videos with suggestive images; some have stayed, others have been edited, and still others were never used," Pulido said. "That's the decision of the artist and their team."

That is the same answer a record executive gives, not the answer a congressman gives.

Democrats Needed a Star Recruit and Got Bobby Pulido Instead

Every Democrat running in Texas this cycle needed a name people already recognized.

Pulido had the Latin Grammy, the Tejano fan base, and the crossover appeal Democrats thought could put De La Cruz's seat in play after redistricting.

Instead they got a candidate who told the Associated Press his own posts were just "humor" that "doesn't translate" out of Spanish.

The National Republican Congressional Committee did not bother being polite about it, calling Pulido "unhinged and unfit to serve in Congress."

De La Cruz's campaign did not need to say much more than that.

Pulido's own team declined to comment when Fox News came calling.

Redistricting Bought Republicans a Fight They Didn't Need

Democrats keep doing this and keep getting burned by it.

Maine Democrats ran into the same wall this year when Senate hopeful Graham Platner's old Reddit posts surfaced, forcing his own party's leaders to look for a stronger option to run against Susan Collins.

The pattern is always identical: recruit a name with a built-in audience, skip the background check, then watch the opposition file cabinet do the work the campaign should have done first.

De La Cruz already beat a Democrat by more than fifteen points in 2024, and redistricting was supposed to be the thing that finally made this seat competitive.

Instead, Texas Democrats handed Republicans a candidate who shared a stage with a predator, spent a decade posting like nobody would ever run for Congress, and still expects South Texas parents to trust him with their vote.

Monica De La Cruz does not have to say a word.

Bobby Pulido already wrote the ad copy himself, one deflection at a time.
