Republicans finally caught Bill and Hillary Clinton dodging their subpoenas.
The House Oversight Committee is ready to drop the hammer.
But Joe diGenova just dropped one brutal truth about what awaits the Clintons in DC.
Republicans Move Forward With Contempt After Clinton No-Shows
Bill and Hillary Clinton blew off their scheduled depositions before the House Oversight Committee.
The couple refused to show up despite receiving lawful subpoenas from a committee vote that passed unanimously.
Chairman James Comer gave them every chance to comply.
He rescheduled multiple times, accommodated their excuses about funerals and conflicts, but the Clintons kept stalling until they finally just refused to appear.
Now Comer is moving forward with contempt of Congress proceedings against both of them.
Former federal prosecutor Joe diGenova told Newsmax the House will vote to hold the Clintons in contempt with or without Democrat support.
That part is certain given the Republican majority.
But diGenova warned that getting an actual criminal conviction in Washington, D.C. is another story entirely.
"And this is a democratically controlled grand jury, along with the petit juries; getting an indictment from a D.C. Grand jury is going to be extremely difficult," diGenova explained.
He's not wrong.
Washington, D.C. is one of the most Democrat-heavy jurisdictions in America.
Getting 12 jurors to convict a Clinton in that city is like finding a needle in a haystack.
DC Grand Juries Have Been Refusing To Indict Under Trump
The problem goes deeper than just partisan lean.
DC grand juries have been actively refusing to indict cases brought by Trump's Justice Department.
In 2025 alone, federal prosecutors failed at least six separate times to secure grand jury indictments in the nation's capital.
Grand juries rejected felony charges against protesters, against people accused of threatening Trump, against defendants in cases prosecutors usually win easily.
One grand jury refused three separate times to indict the same protester for assaulting a federal officer.
Another declined to indict the infamous "sandwich thrower" who hit a Border Patrol agent with a Subway sandwich.
These are cases prosecutors should win in their sleep.
Federal grand juries nationwide returned indictments in 161,989 out of 162,000 cases in 2010.
That's a 99.99% indictment rate.
DC under Trump is proving they won't rubber-stamp anything involving his administration.
DiGenova acknowledged this reality when discussing Jeanine Pirro's challenge as DC's U.S. Attorney.
"But if anyone can do it, it's Jeanine Pirro," diGenova said about the Senate-confirmed prosecutor leading the office.
Pirro was confirmed in August 2025 specifically to crack down on this kind of partisan obstruction.
But even she can't force 12 Democrats to vote against the Clintons.
Steve Bannon and Peter Navarro both went to prison for contempt of Congress after defying Democrat subpoenas.
Attorney General Merrick Garland was held in contempt by Republicans in 2024 for refusing to turn over Biden audio.
The Biden Justice Department simply refused to prosecute him.
That's the game Democrats play.
When they hold the DOJ, their people walk.
When Republicans hold it, they face an impossible jury pool that won't convict Democrats no matter what evidence gets presented.
The Clintons know exactly what they're doing.
They calculated that even if the House votes for contempt, even if DOJ refers it for prosecution, even if Pirro's office tries the case, a DC jury will never convict them.
DiGenova's warning captures the ugly reality of two-tiered justice in America's capital.
Republicans can vote, prosecutors can try, but Democrat jurors in DC will protect their own every single time.
