Ilhan Omar’s Sister Got a Federal Subpoena Hours After Judge Jeanine Pirro Revealed What Investigators Found

Federal agents raided Ilhan Omar's Washington home before dawn and carried boxes of evidence out her front door.

Days later, lead federal prosecutor Jeanine Pirro went on Fox News and said something about Omar's family that changed everything.

Hours after that, a federal grand jury handed Omar's own sister a subpoena that proves investigators found exactly what Pirro meant.

DOJ Subpoenas Land On Sahra Noor Hours After Pirro Goes Public

Pirro told Fox News that the Justice Department had opened a second criminal track into Omar's family, separate from the immigration case that triggered the home search.

By Tuesday afternoon, a federal grand jury had issued subpoenas to Sahra Noor, Omar's sister, and at least one additional family member, according to the New York Times.

Noor is a Minnesota health care executive and published author, and she did not respond to reporters seeking comment.

A woman identifying herself as Noor's daughter called a Times reporter back but refused to discuss the case.

A grand jury subpoena forces someone to hand over testimony or records while prosecutors build a case, and the government does not need proof of a crime before it sends one.

That is exactly the kind of leverage a federal investigator wants pointed at a congresswoman's own family.

The Marriage Allegation Homan Flagged Back in December Just Became a Federal Case

Border czar Tom Homan first put Omar's immigration history on the record in December 2025, telling reporters a DHS fraud investigator had found "immigration fraud involved."

Homan said the fraud centered on Omar's marriage to Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, a man multiple reports have identified as her brother.

The statute of limitations had already closed off criminal charges tied to that specific marriage, but Homan said his team kept "pulling the records, pulling the files" on the wider immigration file instead.

Tuesday's subpoenas prove those files never actually closed.

They just moved from Homan's desk to a grand jury.

The real exposure sits one generation up, with Omar's late father, Nur Omar Mohamed.

Investigators are now examining the paperwork Mohamed filed when the family arrived in the United States in 1995, the same immigration record that eventually made Omar a citizen in 2000.

A top immigration official told the New York Post that the Trump administration could initiate a process to strip Omar of her citizenship if the paperwork does not hold up.

Omar called the raid a "political hit job" and said Trump is "weaponizing" federal law enforcement to silence her.

Neither she nor House Democratic leadership has explained why a sitting congresswoman's sister just got a grand jury subpoena if there is nothing left to find.

Why Denaturalization Is the Legal Weapon Democrats Can't Neutralize

Denaturalization sounds like a dusty legal footnote until you remember the Justice Department already turned it into a running operation.

A June 11, 2025 memo ordered federal attorneys to "prioritize and maximally pursue denaturalization proceedings in all cases permitted by law and supported by the evidence," with financial fraud against the government listed as one of ten priority categories.

Bondi's department built that machine for fraudsters, war criminals, and human traffickers, and it works exactly the same way no matter who sits in Congress.

Omar would be the first sitting member of Congress to walk into that machine.

If her father's 1995 paperwork does not hold up, the socialist Democrat who built a career demanding America abolish ICE could lose the citizenship Homeland Security once granted her family.

That is not a talking point Omar, Hakeem Jeffries, or anyone else in House Democratic leadership wants to litigate in front of voters, which is exactly why their statement attacked the raid's optics and said nothing at all about the paperwork.
