Former Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Gets Slap on Wrist for Bomb Threat

Los Angeles has become a playground for corrupt Democrats who know they can get away with anything.

The latest example proves just how broken California’s justice system really is.

And a former Los Angeles deputy mayor just got a slap on the wrist for a bomb threat that should have landed him in prison.

Brian Williams pulls off one of the most bizarre political stunts in recent memory

Former Los Angeles Deputy Mayor Brian K. Williams thought he could outsmart everyone with an elaborate hoax that sounds like something out of a bad crime drama.

The 61-year-old Democrat official was serving as deputy mayor of public safety when he decided to stage his own personal false flag operation on October 3, 2024.

Williams was sitting in a virtual meeting when he hatched his scheme to make himself look like a hero responding to a terrorist threat.

Here’s how the scam worked.

Williams used the Google Voice application on his personal cellphone to place a call to his own city-issued cellphone.

Then he called the Los Angeles Police Department chief of staff and claimed he had just received a threatening phone call from an unknown man who was planning to bomb City Hall.

The threat triggered a massive response from Los Angeles police officers who rushed to search the entire City Hall building looking for suspicious packages or explosive devices.

They found nothing because there was nothing to find.

Williams had fabricated the entire incident to create drama and possibly make himself look important during a crisis.

Federal prosecutors discovered the truth and Williams was forced to admit in a plea bargain that he had made up the bomb threat himself.

Democrat privilege means never having to face real consequences

Monday’s sentencing shows exactly why California has become a lawless wasteland where Democrat officials can do whatever they want without fear of punishment.

Williams received one year of probation, 50 hours of community service, and a $5,000 fine for his fake bomb threat.

That’s it.

A slap on the wrist for a crime that wasted massive taxpayer resources and sent police officers scrambling to respond to a fake terrorist attack.

Federal law allows for up to 10 years in prison and fines up to $250,000 for making false bomb threats.

But Williams is a Democrat official in Los Angeles, so the rules don’t apply to him the same way they apply to everyone else.

The guy was the deputy mayor of public safety, for crying out loud.

His job was supposed to be keeping the city safe, not creating fake emergencies that diverted police resources from real crimes.

Los Angeles is already dealing with skyrocketing crime rates, homelessness, and drug problems that require every available police officer.

Williams decided it was a good idea to send those officers on a wild goose chase looking for bombs that didn’t exist.

This is what happens when Democrats run cities into the ground

Williams’ fake bomb threat is just the latest example of the corruption and incompetence that has turned Los Angeles into a Third World disaster zone.

The city is controlled by radical leftist politicians who care more about their own egos than actually governing effectively.

Crime is out of control, businesses are fleeing, and the streets are filled with homeless encampments and drug addicts.

But instead of focusing on those real problems, politicians like Williams are busy staging fake terrorist attacks to make themselves look important.

The light sentence sends a message to other corrupt Democrat officials that they can get away with almost anything in California.

Make a bomb threat that wastes thousands of dollars in police resources? No problem – here’s a year of probation and some community service.

Meanwhile, ordinary Americans who defend themselves against criminals face harsher penalties than Williams got for literally making terrorist threats.

The two-tier justice system in America has never been more obvious than it is right now.

Democrats like Williams get treated with kid gloves while conservatives face the full weight of federal prosecutions for much less serious offenses.

Williams should have been sentenced to the maximum 10 years in federal prison to send a message that making false bomb threats is a serious crime with serious consequences.

Instead, he’ll spend a few weekends picking up trash and write a check that probably won’t even dent his government pension.

This is exactly why Americans have lost faith in the justice system and why cities like Los Angeles continue to spiral into chaos under Democrat leadership.

When there are no real consequences for corruption and incompetence, you get more corruption and incompetence.

Brian Williams just proved that point perfectly.
