RFK Jr Just Hammered Dana Bash Relentlessly on What CNN’s Job Really Was During Covid

Fauci's leaked diary caught Dana Bash sending him friendly texts through the whole Covid lockdown era.

On Sunday, Bash sat across from Health Secretary Robert F Kennedy Jr to talk about the next pandemic.

Kennedy looked her in the eye and told her exactly what CNN's job had been the whole time.

The Diary That CNN Refused to Cover

Dana Bash didn't walk into this interview clean.

Weeks earlier, Senator Rand Paul released more than a thousand pages of Dr. Anthony Fauci's personal pandemic diary.

Bash showed up in it.

Fauci wrote that she texted him support after a rough hearing with Rep. Jim Jordan, relaying a joke from her colleague Wolf Blitzer about telling Jordan to go do something unprintable.

Her CNN colleague Jake Tapper fared even worse.

Fauci's diary described private dinners at Tapper's home during the same months millions of Americans were living under his lockdown orders.

CNN's response to all of it was silence.

Reporters at the network wrote up the diary story without mentioning Tapper once, even though he appears in it dozens of times.

Sunday morning, Bash tried to move past all of that and grill Kennedy about pandemic preparedness instead.

It didn't go the way she planned.

Kennedy Wouldn't Let Her Change the Subject

Bash pressed Kennedy on what his department was doing to get ready for the next public health crisis.

Kennedy pivoted straight to the lockdowns, calling them the real damage inflicted on the country.

Kennedy shot back that "you want to move on because you were part of the problem" the moment Bash tried to change the subject.

Bash denied it. Kennedy didn't let up.

He accused CNN of abandoning the one job a journalist actually has.

"That was the job of CNN," Kennedy said, describing a press corps that hyped body counts instead of asking hard questions.

He wasn't finished.

Kennedy turned to the "trust the experts" mantra that defined cable news coverage for two straight years, and reminded Bash where that expert ended up.

Fauci Already Refused to Answer for Any of It

This wasn't a random jab. Weeks before Kennedy sat down with Bash, Fauci himself sat before the Senate and invoked the Fifth Amendment more than one hundred times.

He wouldn't say what day of the week it was. He wouldn't describe the color of his own tie.

Senator Josh Hawley wasn't having it.

"You don't have any rights under the Fifth Amendment," Hawley told Fauci, pointing to the pardon Joe Biden handed him on his way out the door.

Fauci invoked the Fifth again anyway.

That's the man CNN treated as science for two years, the one Bash and Tapper cultivated with warm texts and easy interviews while small business owners watched their life's work die behind plywood.

Kennedy wasn't about to let Bash pretend none of that happened.

"All you know how to do is repeat things that people told you," Kennedy told her, reminding her that the same expert she trusted won't defend a single thing he said in public anymore.

Bash pressed Kennedy on measles and vaccine safety instead. Neither one backed down. But only one of them had a diary full of cozy text messages to explain.

CNN Still Doesn't Get It

CNN's own writeup of the interview accused Kennedy of pushing misinformation and left out the diary entirely.

That's not an oversight. That's the same instinct that kept Tapper's name out of CNN's story two weeks ago.

The network that told Americans for years to trust the experts can't bring itself to report on what those experts actually said in private.

Fauci pled the Fifth to escape answering for the lockdowns. CNN just proved on live television that it will do the exact same thing.
