A White MS NOW Guest Called a Black Congressman Both a Bigot and a Drug Dealer

Joy Reid once called Byron Donalds MSNBC's favorite Black prop.

Now a different MS NOW guest just outdid her.

That guest called Donalds a bigot on live television, and the insult he reached for next was even worse.

The Bigot Label With No Real Explanation Behind It

Byron Donalds is a sitting congressman and a Trump-backed candidate for governor of Florida.

He was the topic of conversation on MS NOW this week, discussing the Republican primary to replace term-limited Governor Ron DeSantis.

Donalds is one of the most prominent Black conservatives in the country, a former state legislator turned congressman who has built a national profile defending Trump on cable news for years.

That profile is exactly why MS NOW keeps bringing him up even when he is not in the room to answer for himself.

Comedian and commentator John Fugelsang did not stop at disagreeing with him.

"Donalds is a bigot, too," Fugelsang said, agreeing with his host's framing and adding Donalds' name to the list without offering a single example.

He was not finished.

Fugelsang told viewers that Donalds was "like the guy you'd buy weed from and then watch him put other men in jail for selling weed."

No policy vote, no quote, no specific position prompted that line.

It was simply an insult, dressed up as commentary, aimed at a Black conservative Fugelsang and his host had already decided did not deserve a real argument.

Donalds has actually been open about his own two arrests as a teenager, using that history to argue for tougher sentencing on repeat juvenile offenders in Washington, D.C., not to excuse them.

Reasonable people can disagree with that policy position.

None of it requires calling the man a bigot or reaching for a drug dealer insult to make the point.

A Pattern That Goes Back to Joy Reid Calling Him a Prop

This is not the first time MS NOW's air has been used to attack Donalds personally instead of his positions.

Joy Reid previously dismissed Donalds as "fake proof" that Black Americans support Trump, calling him the one Black guy Republicans love to roll out.

She has gone further in other segments, describing Black conservatives broadly as people who have to humiliate their own community to get ahead.

Donalds fired back at the time, telling Reid flatly that MSNBC was using her the same way she accused Republicans of using him.

Fugelsang's comments follow that exact playbook.

A guest decides a Black conservative cannot possibly hold his views in good faith, so the accusation shifts from disagreement to character assassination.

Bigot.

A drug dealer.

Those are not policy critiques.

Those are the same tired insults the left keeps recycling against every Black Republican who refuses to think the way MS NOW thinks he should.

No Fact Check and No Apology Before the Segment Ended

Notice what never happened during that segment.

Nobody asked Fugelsang to back up either accusation with a single fact, and nobody at MS NOW cut away from him before the insults finished landing.

Donalds is not backing down, and that is exactly what makes people like Fugelsang furious.

He is a sitting congressman running a serious campaign on his own record, backed by President Trump, without apologizing for either one.

The left has a name for Black conservatives who refuse to perform guilt on command, and Fugelsang reached for it without even bothering to explain why.

Bigot.

The label tells you everything about who actually can't tolerate a Black man thinking for himself.

Florida voters heading into next year's governor's race just got a preview of exactly how nasty the left plans to get, and it has nothing to do with Donalds' actual record.
