Prince Harry has spent the last four years throwing tantrum after tantrum about losing his government-funded security detail when he abandoned his royal responsibilities to chase Hollywood fame with Meghan Markle.

The Duke of Sussex has filed lawsuit after lawsuit, demanding British taxpayers foot the bill for his protection even though he chose to walk away from the job that came with those benefits.

Now a disturbing incident during his recent trip to London has exposed the consequences of his own selfish choices.

Harry’s security gamble backfires in terrifying fashion

During Harry’s September visit to the U.K., a known stalker managed to get within feet of him on two separate occasions – and there was nothing he could do to stop it.

The unnamed woman, who has a history of following Harry and Meghan around the globe, somehow breached a "secure zone" at the WellChild Awards at London’s Royal Lancaster Hotel on September 9.

Two days later, she was spotted again when Harry visited the Centre for Blast Injury Studies in west London on September 11.

The WellChild Awards were held on September 8 – where reports indicate the woman was discovered "mumbling odd comments" while hiding in hotel restrooms before being removed from the premises.

She was later photographed near Harry’s car outside the event.

On September 11, during Harry’s visit to the Centre for Blast Injury Studies, the same woman approached again but was "body-blocked" by members of Harry’s private security team who recognized her from their list of "fixated individuals."

This same woman had previously stalked the couple internationally, including following them all the way to Nigeria during their visit in May 2024.

But here’s the kicker – while Harry received some Metropolitan Police protection during the WellChild Awards ceremony itself (because of the public nature of the event and presence of children), he had no police protection during his visit to the Centre for Blast Injury Studies.

Instead of trained security professionals, he was relying on just two staffers from his private office to keep him safe during that second incident.

A security source explained just how precarious the situation was, noting that Harry’s team managed to identify the woman this time, but warned that depending on chance recognition isn’t a sustainable security strategy.

The same source painted a stark picture of the ongoing risk: "He’s the son of the King, brother of the heir, fifth in line to the throne and one of the most famous people in the world. It feels like there is an inevitable foreboding looming over this whole issue."

Harry created his own security nightmare

This terrifying close call came just months after Harry lost his high-stakes legal battle to force British taxpayers to pay for his security.

In May, Judge Sir Geoffrey Vos dismissed Harry’s appeal, determining that the government’s case-by-case security approach was reasonable and that Harry was essentially moving in and out of the protection system based on his own decisions.

The judge explained that Harry’s security would be evaluated as needed depending on each situation – meaning he gets protection when he’s actually working for the Crown, not when he’s playing celebrity in California.

But Harry couldn’t accept this reasonable arrangement.

Instead, he’s spent years complaining that he "does not feel safe" bringing his family to the U.K. without taxpayer-funded protection, even though he voluntarily gave up the royal duties that came with those benefits.

Former Metropolitan Police counterterrorism chief Neil Basu spelled it out – Harry’s got real threats coming at him because of his military service, his fame, and yeah, his marriage.

But here’s what Basu and the rest of them won’t tell you – Harry brought this whole mess on himself.

Harry’s having trouble with reality

Nobody wants to see anything happen to Harry or his kids.

But you know what this stalker thing really shows? It’s Harry’s whole game plan falling apart right in front of everyone.

The guy wants to have his cake and eat it too – all the royal perks, the protection, the taxpayer money – but none of the actual work that comes with it.

Harry and Meghan made their choice back in 2020. They wanted out of the royal grind so they could cash in on their fame in Hollywood.

Fine. But that decision came with a price tag, and one of those prices was losing the security detail.

Now Harry’s blown millions in court trying to make British taxpayers foot the bill for his California celebrity lifestyle while simultaneously trashing his own family in the press.

But the truth is that Harry got exactly the deal he negotiated – freedom from royal obligations in exchange for losing the perks that came with those obligations.

The fact that a known stalker was able to get so close to him twice in one week proves that his current security arrangements aren’t adequate for someone with his threat level.

But that’s a problem Harry created for himself, and it’s a problem he needs to solve with his own resources, not British taxpayers’ money.

If Harry really believes his family isn’t safe in the U.K. without government protection, then he has a simple choice – either accept the security arrangements the government offers when he’s performing official duties, or stay in California where he can afford to hire his own protection.

What he can’t do is continue demanding special treatment while refusing to fulfill the duties that would justify that treatment.

This stalker incident should serve as a wake-up call for Harry to either commit to royal service or accept the reality of the choices he’s made.
