Ana Navarro, longtime Trump critic and co-host of ABC’s The View, found herself in hot water during a heated exchange on CNN that perfectly illustrated the reflexive bias many in the media maintain against President Donald Trump.

During the panel discussion, conservatives and leftists were debating the Biden Administration’s plan to accept the Qatari government’s donation of a luxury Boeing 747 to be used as a new Air Force One aircraft.
While Republican strategist Scott Jennings attempted to offer a measured take on the situation, Navarro immediately jumped to the worst possible interpretation.
“I don’t think it’s just the optics. I think there’s a — I mean, don’t you think it could lead to a conflict of interest?” Navarro questioned, before launching into a personal attack on Trump’s character. “Don’t you think that Donald Trump likes to get gifts and likes to get his ego stroked, and that that’s a better way to have access to him?”
Jennings pushed back against Navarro’s cynical framing, responding: “You assume the worst of everyone. And I don’t — I don’t know, I — “
Before he could finish his thought, Navarro interrupted with a startling admission that shocked many viewers.

“It’s a great gesture from Qatar,” Trump told reporters on Monday, The Hill also reported. “I would never be one to turn down that kind of an offer. I mean, I could be a stupid person and say, ‘No, we don’t want a free, very expensive airplane.’”
Boeing has failed to deliver on its 2018 contract to replace two Presidential planes – known only as “Air Force One” when the President is aboard – with delivery delayed until 2027 at the eariliest.
Rather than recognizing this as a reasonable accommodation that would save taxpayers money, critics like Navarro immediately framed it as a potential ethical violation.
