There is no doubt that Tucker Carlson is the most popular cable news host in the country.
And some are saying he could win the GOP nomination in 2024 if he ran.
Now, Tucker Carlson has started the 2024 rumors flying with these shocking travel plans.
Even though 2024 is still a long two years away, the rumors of who is running for the GOP nomination for president started over a year ago.
There’s Donald Trump of course. And America’s Governor Ron DeSantis.
And then a long list of Senators, Governors, congressmen and former elected officials.
Names like Ted Cruz, Kristi Noem, Rand Paul, and even Virginia’s newly elected GOP Governor Glenn Youngkin are among those being mentioned.
And those are just a few of the politicians.
Then there are the “non-politicians” like Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson, who at least claims to be a Republican.
Now, there are growing rumors that Fox News star Tucker Carlson may be considering a run as well.
Tucker Carlson is heading to Iowa this summer. Iowa is, of course, the first caucus state and, along with New Hampshire, one of the first states any potential candidate must visit.
And Carlson’s visit isn’t just any visit to the Hawkeye state.
The Family Leadership Summit announced the top-rated Fox News host will be the keynote speaker at their annual meeting in Des Moines this year.
Leading GOP Presidential candidates frequently appear at the Christian forum to raise their profile with social conservatives ahead of the Iowa caucuses.
The heavily publicized event has through the years had a significant impact on the relatively low-turnout Republican caucuses in the state.
While Carlson has in the past repeatedly dismissed rumors that he is considering the idea of running for president, this new addition to his schedule could be a precursor of a shift in his thinking.
And many in the Republican Party’s conservative, liberty-minded anti-RINO wing would welcome a Carlson run. His more populist/libertarian credentials are impeccable, and his ability to articulate them to the average voter are unquestionable.
So naturally, the surprise announcement that he would be the keynote speaker at the Family Leadership Summit has rekindled speculation about a possible Carlson presidential run.
In 2021, speakers at the Family Leadership Summit included potential 2024 presidential candidates like former Vice President Mike Pence, former Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, and Governor Kristi Noem (R-SD).
Shane Goldmacher, a national politics reporter at the Times, tweeted out, “The old saying that no one winds up in Iowa by accident…”
The question is does this apply to Tucker Carlson?
