The press was left speechless after one celebrity “it” couple could be headed for Splitsville

The corporate-controlled media love it when celebrities get together.

They might even like it more when they break up.

And the press was in shock after one celebrity “it” couple could be headed for Splitsville.

Hollywood stars Ben Affleck and Jennifer Lopez were a hot item 20 years ago.

The pair affectionately became known as “Bennifer.”

The two even starred in an awful movie together, Gigli.

But perhaps true love was not meant to be.

On the rocks

Bennifer broke up, got married to other celebrities, and had children.

However, true love got a second chance.

After Affleck and Lopez both got divorced, they rekindled their romance, and finally got married in 2022.

It seemed like the fulfillment of a 20-year destiny, but this may not be a “happily ever after” story after all.

According to reports, Bennifer is hurtling toward divorce.

An insider told In Touch, “The writing is on the wall – it’s over. . .They’re headed for a divorce – and for once, [Ben’s] not to blame!”

The insider added that Affleck “decided to call it quits” because he has a full slate of upcoming film projects.

“He’s focusing on his work and his kids now,” the insider said. “Ben already moved out and they’ll likely have to sell the dream house they spent two years searching for. They’ll never stop loving each other, but she can’t control him, and he can’t change her. There’s no way it could have lasted.”

Hollywood romances often fall apart for these reasons.

They lead busy lives, and they are not incentivized to alter their behavior.

After the couple reconnected, Lopez said, “Getting back together, I said, ‘Listen, one of the things I don’t want is a relationship on social media.’ Then I sort of realized it’s not a fair thing to ask. It’s sort of, like, you’re going to marry a boat captain and you go, ‘Well, I don’t want the water.’ We’re trying to learn to compromise.”

The idea of keeping things under wraps was a long shot.

Two separate worlds

Lopez added, “I don’t think [Ben] is very comfortable with me doing this [documentary], [but] he doesn’t want to stop me.”

A separate source told In Touch, “Ben would never try to stifle [Jennifer]’s dreams or tell her she can’t do something that advances her career, even though she can be quite controlling of him.”

Nobody puts Batman in the corner.

The insider concluded, “They waited almost two decades to get back together, but in the end, they just couldn’t make it work. . .They both said they’d matured and learned from their mistakes, but some of the bigger issues that tore them apart the first time remained the same.”

Expecting two megastars with separate families to tie everything together seemed like a Herculean task, and if the rumors are true, it was.

But who knows?

Maybe “Bennifer” will finally be able to make things work once and for all.

Regardless, let’s hope they don’t make another movie together.

  • President Trump and Joe Biden went head-to-head in the first Presidential debate last night.

But Fox News' Chris Wallace was widely criticized as the moderator for framing his questions around leftist talking points and routinely arguing and criticizing President Trump.

At one point, as Trump and Wallace clashed over healthcare, Trump retorted, "I guess I'm debating you, not him."
