The New York Times came up with a ridiculous defense of Joe Biden’s disastrous economic policies

Published

Joe Biden has started several fires in his first 120 days in office.

One of Biden’s biggest blunders has been his handling of the economy.

But The New York Times came up with a ridiculous defense of Joe Biden’s disastrous economic policies.

The Biden administration came up with the genius idea of paying people to stay home even though the pandemic was essentially over.

Now that people have become addicted to “free” money, they don’t want to go back to work.

The result has been a labor shortage and a record jump in price inflation.

But progressives believe the labor shortage is a good thing because it will force employers to pay more money.

Ezra Klein of The New York Times even believes this is an opportunity for America to end poverty.

Klein wrote in a Times opinion piece:

“As it happened, just as I was watching Republican governors try to immiserate low-wage workers who weren’t yet jumping at the chance to return to poorly ventilated kitchens for $9 an hour, I was sent ‘A Guaranteed Income for the 21st Century,’ a plan that seeks to make poverty a thing of the past. The proposal, developed by Naomi Zewde, Kyle Strickland, Kelly Capatosto, Ari Glogower and Darrick Hamilton for the New School’s Institute on Race and Political Economy, would guarantee a $12,500 annual income for every adult and a $4,500 allowance for every child. It’s what wonks call a ‘negative income tax’ plan – unlike a universal basic income, it phases out as households rise into the middle class.”

One of the big problems with leftists is they constantly repackage the same ideas and hope that nobody remembers their past failure.

The negative income tax was implemented as a pilot program in the 1970s, and to the dismay of its proponents, the negative income tax did not increase labor force participation.

Even though program participants knew their benefits wouldn’t be adversely affected by taking a job, they still didn’t want to work.

And Klein and other progressives only pay lip service to the problem of inflation.

When the government prints money irresponsibly, it actually transfers wealth from the working class to the Wall Street class.

The dollar has lost 84% of its value since America went off the gold standard in 1971, and 96% since the creation of the Federal Reserve in 1913.

People working for lower wages are hit the hardest by the rise in cost of goods and services, and they’re less likely to have their assets in high-return investment vehicles.

Progressives also refuse to acknowledge that innovation has slashed global poverty by half over the past 40 years, and the standard of living of poor people in America is well above the global standard.

The New York Times has stumbled onto the “new” idea of printing trillions of dollars to end poverty because they ignore all of the times it has failed.

The New York Times issued a humiliating correction that proved one undeniable truth

Published

on

For better or worse, The New York Times is the paper of record in the United States.

But The Times also has a major problem on its hands.

And now The New York Times issued a humiliating correction that proved one undeniable truth.

The Times issued a correction to a story by science and health reporter Apoorva Mandavilli in which Mandavilli wildly overstated the number of children hospitalized from the Chinese coronavirus.

The Times initially reported ‘nearly 900,000 children have been hospitalized’ with COVID since the pandemic began, when the factual data in the now-corrected version is that ‘more than 63,000 children were hospitalized with Covid-19 from August 2020 to October 2021,’” the correction read.

This did not appear to many as an innocent error.

The Times – like the rest of the corporate-controlled media – is fully onboard with forcibly vaccinating every American.

As Big Pharma asks the government for emergency use authorizations to administer the vaccine to children, the next big fight will play out over vaccine mandates in schools.

Mandavilli’s article played into the fear-mongering the corporate-controlled media uses to push vaccine mandates by overstating the risk to children from the Chinese coronavirus.

The Times used to have a highly competent science and health reporter named Donald McNeil who never used to make embarrassing, agenda-driven errors like this.

But back in February, The Times forced out McNeil after woke staffers revolted over reports that McNeil offended privileged SJW teenagers on a trip to South America several years prior.

Polls show trust in the media is at an all-time low.

A big reason why is corporate-controlled media outlets like The Times sacrifice accuracy for narrative storytelling.

The media issues corrections when so-called “journalists” make errors.

But the errors always run in one direction and the correction never gets as much traction or coverage as the initial claim.

The New York Times was forced to issue one humiliating correction

Published

on

The New York Times sets the political agenda for the corporate-controlled media and the Democrat Party.

Whatever leads in The Times gets repeated over and over ad nauseam as “truth” on the Left.

But now The New York Times was forced to issue one humiliating correction.

The corporate-controlled media tried to distract from Joe Biden’s failure to secure the southern border by spreading a false claim that border patrol agents on horseback whipped Haitian illegal aliens attempting to sneak into the country.

One of these corporate-controlled media activists was Michael Shear of The New York Times.

Shear wrote a story about the border crisis where Shear falsely claimed border patrol agents used the reins on their horses to whip illegal aliens.

“The images of agents on horseback chasing, and in some cases using the reins of their horses to strike at running migrants, came as Mr. Biden’s administration moved to forcefully round up and deport more than 2,000 of the 15,000 migrants who gathered in a makeshift camp in Del Rio, Texas. Thousands more have been moved to other parts of the country or have been released with orders to appear in court later,” Shear’s original version of the story read.

The photographer who took the pictures of the agents on horseback attempting to defend the southern border said the photos were misconstrued and that the agents never struck anyone.

That led The Times to issue a correction admitting their original story contained fake news.

“An earlier version of this article overstated what is known about the behavior of some Border Patrol agents on horseback. While the agents waved their reins while pushing migrants back into the Rio Grande, The Times has not seen conclusive evidence that migrants were struck with the reins,” the correction read.

In this case, the corporate-controlled media’s lies about border patrol agents whipping illegal aliens led to catastrophic policy consequences.

The Biden administration suspended the horseback unit – which cripples the ability of the border patrol to secure the border because vehicles cannot travel on certain terrain at the border and horses are the only means of travel.

Biden also threatened to fire the agents involved on live television putting their families at risk of losing everything.

The corporate-controlled media likes to claim it is the “reality” or “fact” based media.

But this episode proved once again that corporate-controlled media outlets will run wild with false narratives if they think it will serve the Left’s political interests.

The New York Times Shockingly Edited One Headline to Soften Joe Biden’s Grave Error

Published

on

The corporate press is fully an extension of the Left.

So-called mainstream outlets exist to attack Conservatives and prop up the Democrat establishment.

And The New York Times shockingly edited one headline to soften Joe Biden’s grave error.

Joe Biden’s horrendous handling of the Afghanistan withdrawal has collapsed his presidency.

His approval rating has dropped like a log as 13 service members died during a terrorist attack at the Kabul airport.

During the transfer ceremony of the fallen soldiers, Biden checked his watch multiple times, infuriating the Gold Star parents.

The corporate press tried to “debunk” the watch-checking story, but failed to do so after multiple family members confirmed it.

Now the press is trying to soften the edges on Biden invoking his dead son Beau when talking to the families of departed soldiers.

The parents there to claim their loved-ones’ remains say Biden’s incessant talk about his son Beau after the ceremony was off-putting.

You’d think he’d have the decency to let them discuss their deceased soldiers’ lives and grieve the loss of their own children.

Disgustingly, The New York Times edited a headline to downplay the exasperation these family members felt.

Despite the headline change, The Times did a poor job of capturing the frustration of the family members.

For example, The Washington Post at least let the family’s voices be heard.

When describing the sentiments of fallen Marine Rylee McCollums’s family, The Post wrote:

“The president brought up his son, Beau, according to her account, describing his son’s military service and subsequent death from cancer. It struck the family as scripted and shallow, a conversation that lasted only a couple of minutes in ‘total disregard to the loss of our Marine,’ [sister] Roice said.”

“Scripted and shallow” sums up the Biden presidency.

He’s routinely told who he’s supposed to call on during press conferences, and he’s so addled, he doesn’t even bother to keep those details to himself.

Can the so-called mainstream media’s protection of Biden continue at such shameless levels?
