CNN and the rest of the establishment media are still reveling in getting Joe Biden elected.
Washington, D.C. Swamp creatures like John Kerry are back in the fold.
But John Kerry may never go on CNN again after he was asked this one question.
Former Democratic presidential candidate and Secretary of State John Kerry has perhaps taken over for Al Gore as the most obnoxious environmentalist fear-monger in Washington, D.C. politics.
Joe Biden appointed Kerry as his climate envoy, and Kerry isn’t wasting any time globetrotting on his private jet.
Kerry sat for an interview with CNN’s Fareed Zakaria, and he got hit with a question that caught him completely off-guard.
Zakaria asked, “You talk about [the transition away from fossil fuels] being exciting and the marketplace telling people to do this . . . But right now there are areas where President Biden’s actions will put people out of work. Canceling the Keystone pipeline. The decision on no new fracking on new federal lands. Those governmental decisions are going to put people out of work, in fact, already are doing so . . . What do you say to those people?”
Stopping the Keystone pipeline put 11,000 people out of work, and according to the American Petroleum Institute, Biden’s fracking ban could cost 1 million jobs and $700 billion.
Kerry weakly replied, “We’re a great nation at creating jobs . . . As President Biden has said many times — that COVID actually offers us the opportunity to build back better because the economy has been rocked. As we come back, we will be putting major investments into various sectors of the economy to get it moving again.”
This is an absurd distortion.
The state lockdowns are what destroyed the economy.
Local businesses were decimated while major corporations with powerful friends were allowed to remain open and generate massive profits.
Kerry also repeated the globalist mantra “build back better,” which is completely detached from reality.
Many businesses have been permanently destroyed, and the economic and sociological impacts of COVID are yet to be known.
Also, the government is terrible at creating jobs that provide value.
Shoehorning people into so-called “green” jobs when the demand isn’t there is ultimately a waste of resources.
Also, the environmentalist fantasy of everything powered by solar and wind is absurd.
Those are inefficient sources of energy that are more expensive, less reliable, and ironically consume more land.
They also require fossil fuels in order to build out infrastructure.
Environmentalists like Kerry are simply looking for a pretext to control the economy.
