The institutional media fawns over celebrities who ‘bravely’ parrot Democrat Party talking points.

But this way of enforcing the preferred narratives can go far off the rails.

And now Jane Fonda has inspired an acolyte in a famous, former Obama administration official who just tried one-upping her recent jaw-dropping remarks. 

Before he became host of the Daily Show, Hollywood actor Kal Penn took a major detour  from acting and entertainment into politics.

Only Penn went far beyond the activism you typically see when wanna-be or has-been Hollywood celebrities want to bolster their careers – Penn actually got a job as a staffer in the Obama administration.

Now the former White House Office of Public Liaison Associate Director has taken the leftist media wars to an even stranger place.

Penn took a page out of “Hanoi” Jane Fonda’s book on winning friends and influencing debates after her recent quip about using “murder” to respond to restrictions on abortion.

As Pants on Fire recently reported 85-year-old Fonda recently went on The View where she offered up “murder” – jokingly, she now says – as a reasonable alternative to merely protesting abortion bans. 

Now, The Daily Show’s Penn is hitting the panic button and screaming murder over a deviation from the Left’s partisan climate agenda. 

Penn started a recent show by attacking the most leftist President in American history of not being radical enough. 

Penn argued that Biden campaigned in 2020 promising “no more drilling on federal lands. Period. Period. Period. Period.”

But he says the current situation has turned into, “Period! Period! Period! Comma. Because now Biden has approved a major oil drilling project on federal land in Alaska.”

Even in the face of skyrocket energy prices—and insanely serious national security concerns over energy dependence—leftists are melting down over the federal government allowing American energy companies to pull even a minimal amount of oil out of Alaska’s vast oil fields. 

After straying off topic to make some lewd conjectures about Biden’s sex life, Penn then took his environmental complaints in a truly bizarre direction. 

“The crazy part about this drilling project is that they’ll be installing a device called a thermosiphon that keeps the permafrost solid enough for drilling, while it simultaneously melts due to global warming,” the leftist host complained. 

“I guess ConocoPhillips has an irony division?” he added. “I mean, keeping the permafrost alive so they can kill it slowly, that’s, like, some Silence of the Lambs serial killer shit. Would you [bleep] The planet?’ ‘I’d [bleep] The planet.’ I worked at the White House.” 

The fact that Penn would seriously compare melting ice to a serial murder rampage is beyond insane. 

When you contrast that with Jane Fonda’s murderous rhetoric over losing universal access to abortion-on-demand, it becomes clear who has really earned a Silence of the Lambs reference. 

The real question is why and how characters like Fonda and Penn can even get away with their outrageous claims.

Donald Trump did a lot of sorting in the Republican Party in 2016.

He exposed many of the frauds and grifters.

And now one Never Trumper has just snipped his credibility with an alarming statement in the NYT that he’ll never recover from.

Donald Trump became a permanent enemy of the D.C. establishment in February 2016 during the South Carolina GOP primary.

Trump told Jeb Bush that his brother lied the country into the Iraq War, effectively painting Bush and the neocons as warmongers.

Prior to that moment, even king neocon Bill Kristol wrote favorably of Trump, suspecting Trump might have been a security hawk.

From that moment forward, Kristol and the neocons have attacked Trump with every weapon in their arsenal.

Kristol even recruited former National Review writer David French to launch a third party run in 2016 to siphon votes away from Trump and hand the election to Hillary Clinton, who would reliably bomb whichever country the neocons wanted.

French withdrew his name from consideration but became one of the leaders of the Never Trump movement.

Unsurprisingly, French now writes for the New York Times, and like so many of the other Never Trump warmongers, he has reversed almost all of his positions, except war; in fact, French recently promoted an article at Commentary Magazine that defended the Iraq War.

French has effectively bent the knee to the “woke” Left on a number of issues, particularly “gender-affirming” butchery on children.

French wrote in a recent Times column, “Gov. Greg Abbott of Texas issued a directive to the Texas Department of Family and Protective Services to investigate as ‘abuse’ both surgical and pharmaceutical interventions for transgender children, regardless of the good faith and desires of the parents, children and caregivers involved. To understand the gravity of the state interference with parental authority, it’s worth remembering the words of Chief Justice Warren Burger in the 1972 case Wisconsin v. Yoder, in which he wrote that the ‘primary role of the parents in the upbringing of their children is now established beyond debate as an enduring American tradition.’ To simply presume that parents are abusive because they may dissent from state consensus on transgender care is to violate this principle of American law.”

First, French doesn’t seem similarly outraged about parents losing custody of their children for not “gender-affirming” or psychologists being threatened with loss of licensure for the same reason.

Nevertheless, he apparently does believe that parents having genitalia altering surgery and hormone manipulations performed on their children – what he terms “transgender care” – is somehow equivalent to the Amish parents that Justice Burger wrote of who took their kids out of government schools. 

At least he does now that he works for the New York Times.

French was singing a different tune about transgenderism not that long ago.

In 2019, French called Drag Queen Story Hour a “blessing of liberty,” but in 2016 during the transgender bathroom controversy, French wrote in National Review, “North Carolina’s lawsuit represents a direct challenge to the notion that the EEOC can amend federal law merely by changing its ‘interpretation.’ It also challenges the very idea that requiring people to use bathrooms that correspond with their biological sex represents sex discrimination. The Obama administration credulously buys the notion that a man in a dress or a man who has been surgically mutilated is now a ‘woman,’ and it seeks to enforce that notion with the full power of the federal government. AS I said before, quack science meets quack law, and the Constitution is the casualty.”

French dismissed transgenderism as “quick science” and mocked the idea that a “surgically mutilated” man could become a woman.

A reader took exception with French’s words and wrote, “The phrase ‘surgically mutilated’ both mischaracterizes sex reassignment surgery & shows your inherent transphobia.”

French responded, “Mutilation is still mutilation, even when done with a scalpel. So very sad.”

 Conservatives have often been criticized as leftists simply driving the speed limit.

When people like Kristol and French were considered at the forefront of thought on the American Right for so long, it’s easy to see how America has been overtaken by “wokeness.”

But sometimes they have to know something’s too outrageous to be true.

And now Donald Trump was overcome with joy when these brothers demolished a big media lie about him on camera.

Hollywood actor Jussie Smollet fed the left-wing media a story too outrageous to be true in the earlier days of Donald Trump’s Presidency.

But the Empire actor quickly was soon called out by Trump supporters for faking a hate crime in which he claimed he was attacked by two MAGA-hat wearing white guys in the dead of night in Chicago.

Smollett, who is half-black and gay, was initially painted as a saintly figure by the corporate-controlled press for being the victim of a supposed double hate attack.

But Smollett’s story quickly fell apart once the Chicago Police Department began to investigate the hoax.

Their investigation revealed that Smollett orchestrated the entire thing and paid two brothers, Abimbola and Olabinjo Osundairo, to attack him at 2 a.m.

Smollett maintained his innocence the entire time despite overwhelming evidence that he was guilty.

He literally paid the Osundairo brothers with a check and was caught on surveillance camera rehearsing the attack with them.

Now the Osundairo brothers are speaking out about what happened in a Fox Nation documentary called Jussie Smollett: Anatomy of a Hoax.

The Osundairo brothers re-enacted the entire ridiculous affair.

Abimola explained, “We made sure we got there at 2 a.m. sharp. We had no phones because he did not want us to bring any phones…So 2 a.m., he was nowhere to be found. He was not there, so we were like, ‘Damn, what do we do?’ We didn’t have no way of contacting him. He had no way of contacting us. So we waited here for about … four minutes.”

Olabinjo added, “But it felt like forever.”

Smollett was sentenced to five months in jail, but he is currently out as his lawyers appeal the ruling.

During the sentencing hearing, Smollett melted down and ranted, “I would just like to say, your honor, that I am not suicidal. I am not suicidal. I am not suicidal. I am innocent and I am not suicidal…If I did this, then it means that I stuck my fist in the fears of black Americans in this country for over 400 years and the fears of the LGBTQ community. Your Honor, I respect you and I respect the jury, but I did not do this and I am not suicidal. If anything happens to me when I go in there, I did not do it to myself. And you must all know that.”

The entire Smollett saga was a clown show, but it was predictable because the Left have incentivized victimhood.

Left-wing media elites wanted Smollett’s attempted smear of former President Donald Trump and his supporters to be true. 

And it had to break their hearts when it was proved a lie.
