The “correspondents” over at CNN seem to be unable to spot a real news story even when it smacks them in the face.
But they are pros at slamming Donald Trump and anyone associated with him.
Now, Melania Trump is under fire from CNN for the lamest reason possible.
CNN is a sinking ship dying a slow death after Donald Trump left office and made them completely irrelevant.
Now, the Never-Trumper network has a new boss at the helm demanding they cover hard news in a last-ditch effort to recover viewers as their ratings dwindle to almost nothing.
But the employees at the Corrupt News Network are apparently incapable of dealing in truth.
Instead, at a time when families are being forced to choose between stocking their pantries and filling up the gas tank, they decided to go after Melania Trump for the lamest reason possible: as First Lady she refused to go on a massive shopping spree.
On its website CNN Politics ran the ultimate first-world problems piece complaining that during massive White House dinners guests are being forced to drink out of glassware provided by—GASP—a caterer.
You heard that right, folks, when 300+ people descend on the White House the glasses they drink out of are merely the property of the most elite catering companies in the nation.
And, according to CNN’s Kate Bennett, this “problem” has been in the making for decades, but Melania Trump is the White House wife of choice to accuse of gross shopping negligence.
The problem was first really noticed during George W. Bush’s time in office and “the massive state dinners of the Barack Obama era only solidified the situation: The White House was desperately in need of crystal.”
But does the blame fall on Laura Bush or Michelle Obama?
Of course not! Laura was pro-choice and mere housekeeping duties were beneath Michelle’s notice.
Instead, Melania is the First Lady to get raked over the coals for failure in “assessing and acquiring needed items for preservation or continuity of tradition at the White House.”
According to Bennett, three people know that Melania was “aware of the situation” but she, “declined to carry out the suggested request.”
Perhaps, because she didn’t want to burden the American taxpayers with paying for some nonsense fooling around.
Or they may have expected her to donate the glasses to the White House, something it seems likely she would be willing to foot financially if it were a worthy cause.
After all, her husband donated his salary back to the government each year.
But it’s doubtful Jill Biden would have deigned to sip from a glass Melania purchased.
Recently, leftists refused to even accept scholarship money Melania tried to donate to needy foster children.
The last new set of crystal was purchased when Richard Nixon was in office.
Since the White House was designated as a “historical” location, the First Lady can’t simply sell old sets and replace them with new complete sets—which was also part of a longtime practical tradition.
Instead, if the historical association decides they have some sort of significance everything will have to be preserved indefinitely.
No doubt, Melania’s choice to avoid a spending splurge not only saved money in the short term, it also kept the Swamp’s clutter problem under control.
Instead of overcrowding the cupboards, the former First Lady worked on more substantial projects that “contributed to the historic integrity of the White house,” according to Stewart McLaurin, president of the White House Historical Association.
Those projects included restoring and updating all doors in the residence, State floor, and ground floor.
She also finished some of Michelle Obama’s projects.
In other words, CNN is just blowing smoke and stretching past the bounds of reason in an insane attempt to cast shade on Donald Trump’s wife.
