Joy Reid Wants America Split in Two Over How She Feels About You

MSNBC canceled Joy Reid's show last year after ratings collapsed and network executives cleaned house.

Reid landed on a left wing podcast, and this week she told her cohost exactly what she thinks of you.

She said she would take a deal right now to never share a country with conservatives again.

Reid Tells Wajahat Ali She Struggles to See Conservatives As Countrymen

The comments came during a taped sit down with Wajahat Ali for his show, The Left Hook, released this week.

She did not soften it.

"I have to be honest, I struggle with being countrymen with these people," Reid said.

She kept going.

"They are full of rage, hate, cruelty," Reid said. "They're mean."

Then she offered her fix.

"If you told me tomorrow there was a magical way to split the country in two, like they did with the Sudans and make an America A and America B … I promise you I would take that deal," Reid said.

Reid singled out conservative activist Laura Loomer, calling her "peak MAGA" and adding, "She's actually what they are. They're all like her."

By that logic, one online personality now stands in for every Trump voter in the country, doctors, veterans, and retirees included.

She put a price tag on the divide too. "If we win they get healthcare. When they win, we get destroyed, killed," Reid said.

The exchange happened during a discussion of ICE enforcement, with Ali cheering her on the entire time.

Nobody in that conversation offered a single conservative a chance to respond.

A clip of the exchange spread across conservative media within a day.

Reid Called a National Divorce an Apartheid Hellscape When a Republican Proposed It

Reid has heard this idea before, and she used to call it dangerous.

That February, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene had pitched her own national divorce, with red states going one way and blue states another.

Reid tore into her on air.

She warned the split would leave people "trapped in an apartheid hellscape" with "zero healthcare, crappy public schools, barely a right to vote."

She compared the plan to the Confederacy holding "4 million African Americans hostage as slaves."

That was not her only shot at Greene that winter.

Weeks earlier, on her own show, Reid said giving Greene committee assignments was "literally, the confederates in charge of the union."

Back then, breaking up the country was a moral emergency, and only a dangerous extremist would propose it.

Now that Reid is the one drawing the map, it is just an honest thought experiment between friends on a podcast.

Wajahat Ali Never Made Her Defend a Word of It

Reid did not misspeak once and move on.

She built an entire segment around the idea that half the country disgusts her too much to keep sharing it.

"These people hate us. They hate anyone who isn't them," Reid said, widening her target from Trump himself to every conservative listening.

She went further, describing her fantasy of a divided America where the right could "have a circle jerk of hate and meanness and awfulness and just leave us alone."

Wajahat Ali never asked what happens to the conservative neighbor who has never tweeted, never rallied, and never heard of Laura Loomer.

He never asked who draws the border for "America B," or what happens to a mixed family caught on the wrong side of it.

He just let her keep going.

That is the real story here.

She does not want unity, she does not want persuasion, and she does not want you.

That is the confession, not a slip of the tongue.

Millions of readers just found out where they stand with a woman who spent a decade lecturing them about unity.
