After a Democrat put his foot in his mouth, leftist spin doctors stepped up to create a distraction.
The result is a hit piece that looks like a campaign presser.
And it provides more proof the Fake News faithful are willing to stoop to new lows in the process of trying to get Democrats elected.
Turncoat Democrat Tim Ryan got his start in politics as a pro-life moderate.
But now he’s all over pushing the leftist agenda including late pregnancy abortions on babies who could be delivered and survive just fine outside their mother’s womb.
Only a small minority of Americans believe abortions should be allowed without any sort of restrictions placed on them, but in a recent interview he told Fox News’ Bret Baier, “Look, you got to leave it up to the woman.”
That statement amounts to a massive political liability for the Ohio Senate candidate.
After all, 73% of Ohio’s citizens are Christians according to Pew Research.
And that number includes 29% Evangelical Protestants and 18% Catholics—both groups known for their strong pro-life advocacy.
In response to Ryan’s major foot-in-mouth moment, Politico stepped up to the plate to do some damage control in the form of an obvious partisan attack piece on Ryan’s Republican opponent.
Politico’s Ryan Lizza and Rachael Bade teamed up to pen a lovely piece of fiction they entitled, “The book J.D. Vance doesn’t want you to read.”
Incredibly, they wrote an article that would never have passed the sniff test for the most left leaning news editor only a few years ago.
The piece pushed a book that’s nothing more than a propaganda piece published by the “Protect Ohio Values” super PAC.
Stunningly, the book is so blatantly partisan it actually includes a “JD Vance vulnerability study.”
The article included a note saying that, “The Vance campaign did not respond to a request for comment last night, but if they get back to us we’ll include it in Playbook PM later today.”
But Vance’s Campaign advisor Andrew Surabian proved the last thing Politico wanted was both sides of the story.
“4 part story about the lack of journalistic ethics at Politico Playbook,” Surabian wrote in a tweet. “1. Reporter reaches out for comment at 1140 PM for a story that prints at 630 AM. 2. story says the JD Vance campaign ‘did not respond’ 3. We send over an on record response. 4. Playbook refuses to run in full.”
Considering that it was a manufactured hit piece rather than a breaking news story, it’s pretty obvious the last thing the writers really wanted was the truth.
“This is not a breaking news story,” Vance campaign spokeswoman Taylor Van Kirk wrote in an email to Politico’s Lizza. “Politico has had this information for over a week. There is no [excuse] for you waiting so long to reach out.”
The publication responded by publishing a sparse, halfhearted response from the campaign.
“Playbook may as well be on the Tim Ryan campaign payroll since they are acting like his PR team,” Van Kirk told Fox News Digital.
She pointed out that the Politico piece amounted to “covering our campaign in a journalistically unethical way, while conveniently providing no coverage on Tim Ryan’s extremist comments from last night endorsing late-term abortion, without any restrictions.”
The gloves came off back in 2016 when Donald Trump was elected as president and shocked the Lamestream Media into showing its true colors.
Now the prospect of having the US Supreme Court overturn Roe v. Wade is taking that to the next level.
So-called “journalists” are proving that their number one job is getting Democrats elected.
