Jim Acosta was up to his old tricks.

Acosta kept up his bit attacking Donald Trump.

And now Jim Acosta told a lie about Donald Trump that made one thing about CNN perfectly clear.

Donald Trump released a statement expressing sympathy for some of the January 6 defendants being held in indefinite detention while federal prosecutors drop charges and release Antifa and Black Lives Matter rioters who set fire to cities and looted private businesses.

“Our hearts and minds are with the people being persecuted so unfairly relating to the January 6 protest concerning the Rigged Presidential Election,” Trump’s statement read.

Trump’s statement came ahead of a planned rally at the Washington, D.C. jail where the Biden administration is keeping the defendants locked up in what critics claim is a gulag.

On CNN, Jim Acosta asked former RINO Ohio Governor John Kasich about the rally and falsely claimed that Trump supported the rally.

“Governor, Republicans have been trying to distance themselves from this rally but if Trump is giving this his blessing could we see others in the GOP follow his lead?” Acosta asked.

But Donald Trump did not give his blessing to this rally.

In fact, in an interview with The Federalist, Trump said the rally was a “set up” and did not want his followers to go.

After Kasich responded, Acosta launched into another attack on Trump calling Trump an “unrepentant arsonist” based on comments Trump never made about supporting the rally for the January 6 defendants.

“We are dealing with a former president who is sort of like an unrepentant arsonist. He can’t help himself, enamored with the flames that he sets. What’s disturbing is our new CNN poll says 78% of Republicans say that Joe Biden did not actually win this election, getting back to what John Kasich was saying. It’s disturbing that we are still dealing with this,” Acosta added.

CNN claims it is a “facts first” network.

But Jim Acosta blatantly disregarded the facts about what Trump said to invent a caricature of President Trump.

That’s not “facts first.”

Mary Trump holds no real news value, but left-wing outlets like CNN like to put her one the air because her last name is “Trump” and she will say rotten things about her uncle.

And in the interview, Mary Trump criticized a statement Donald Trump released after Charlottesville took down a statue of Confederate General Robert E. Lee.

Trump praised Lee as a brilliant General and claimed the U.S. would have won the war in Afghanistan had Lee been in charge.

Mary Trump smeared Donald Trump calling Lee and Trump traitors who were both responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans.

“Robert E. Lee was very far from being a brilliant general,” Mary Trump told Acosta. “And beside which, Robert E. Lee was a traitor to this country who was directly responsible for the deaths of hundreds of thousands of Americans, which sounds very familiar. So maybe that’s why Donald identifies with him so much.”

That prompted Acosta to interject that Trump and Lee both had the fact that they are “losers” in common.

“And maybe he identifies with the fact that he’s a loser. He lost, Trump lost. They’re both losers,” Acosta sneered.

Acosta claimed he hated to bring up the “former guy” but that is not true at all.

CNN depended on Donald Trump for ratings.

Since Trump left office, CNN’s ratings plummeted.

Acosta loves talking about Donald Trump because it is the only chance to attract an audience.

But the audience Acosta can attract by talking about Trump are those suffering from the worst cases of Trump Derangement Syndrome.

And Acosta has to feed them a steady diet of red meat, which is why he invites guests who call Trump a “traitor” on television.

In a bid for relevancy, CNN sent activist/Trump stalker Jim Acosta to Donald Trump’s event at the southern border with Texas Governor Greg Abbott.

At the event, Acosta tried to make himself the center of attention by shouting questions at Donald Trump.

The point wasn’t to elicit an answer from Trump or make actual news.

The point was to get Acosta on film yelling at Trump so Acosta could make whatever reaction he got the story.

That’s exactly what happened when Trump ignored Acosta demanding Trump apologize for January 6.

The crowd in attendance booed Acosta’s grandstanding and Acosta was too happy to share the video on social media.
