Angel Pop Joe Abraham Just Took Over the ICE Office Built in Katie’s Name

An illegal immigrant driver killed Katie Abraham in a hit and run last January and drove off.

Her father spent the next year turning that grief into a citywide crackdown that swept up thousands of criminals.

Now the government just handed Joe Abraham a job that puts him in charge of protecting the next family from living what he lived.

An Illegal Immigrant Driver Killed Katie Abraham in a Hit and Run

Katie Abraham was 20 years old when Julio Cucul-Bol, a Guatemalan national living in the country illegally, slammed into her car and drove away.

Cucul-Bol pleaded guilty to aggravated driving under the influence resulting in death and leaving the scene of a fatal crash.

A judge handed him 30 years in prison.

Katie's friend Chloe Polzin died alongside her that night.

Joe Abraham did not disappear into private grief the way Washington probably expected him to.

He started showing up at press conferences and writing his own account of what happened, laying blame exactly where he saw it.

"The political leadership of Illinois created the conditions that made Katie's death possible," Abraham wrote. "By declaring Illinois a sanctuary state – proudly and without guardrails – they invited the world to enter and be protected, with virtually no screening."

Operation Midway Blitz Was Named for Her and Arrested Thousands

The Department of Homeland Security launched Operation Midway Blitz in September, and it named the operation in honor of Katie Abraham.

Federal agents descended on Chicago and swept up more than 4,000 illegal aliens by the time the operation wound down.

Governor JB Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Brandon Johnson fought the surge every step of the way, and Trump has accused their offices of "encouraging violent resistance against ICE officers."

Trump posted results on Truth Social crediting the operation with a 35 percent drop in shootings, a 41 percent drop in robberies, and nearly a 50 percent drop in carjackings.

He said the numbers came "despite the extraordinary resistance from Chicago and Illinois Radical Democrat leadership."

Pritzker's office and Johnson's office had no comment when reporters asked them to respond to Trump's numbers.

Abraham wrote that Pritzker "has not acknowledged her death at all. No phone call. No letter. No condolences."

Silence is apparently the sanctuary state's official condolence policy.

Joe Abraham Now Runs the ICE Office Built for Victims Like His Daughter

ICE just named Joe Abraham executive director of the VOICE office, the Victims of Immigration Crime Engagement division that exists specifically for families like his.

"I am excited to accept the Executive Director role at VOICE because this is not simply a government position for me, it is deeply personal," Abraham said.

The VOICE office was created back in 2017 under the first Trump administration, after then-Secretary John Kelly said "all crime is terrible, but these victims are unique – and too often ignored."

Since reopening this April, the office has logged 897 calls and worked directly with 588 victims and 185 relatives of victims.

Assault, sexual assault, and homicide top the list of crimes those callers are reporting.

Joe Abraham is no longer just one more grieving father Democrats hoped would fade from the news.

He now decides how the federal government treats every family walking the same nightmare he walked.

Sanctuary Politicians Still Will Not Say Katie Abraham's Name

Illinois built a sanctuary state around the idea that shielding illegal aliens from federal enforcement makes communities safer.

Katie Abraham is dead because that theory failed her family in the most permanent way possible.

Pritzker and Johnson spent months fighting Operation Midway Blitz instead of asking why an illegal alien with the freedom to drive drunk through Chicago streets was ever allowed to stay.

Trump's numbers show shootings, robberies, and carjackings all falling as ICE agents did the job Illinois' own leaders refused to do.

Joe Abraham's new title is proof that this administration intends to keep victims like his daughter at the center of immigration enforcement instead of burying them in a press release.

Every sanctuary politician who stayed quiet about Katie Abraham's death just got a permanent reminder sitting inside ICE headquarters.

His name is Joe Abraham, and he is not going anywhere.
