ICE killed an illegal immigrant in Houston after agents say he tried to run one of them down.
Jesse Watters brought up the shooting on The Five, and Jessica Tarlov tried to defend the dead man.
Then Watters used her own excuse to wreck her on live television.
Tarlov's Defense Was That He Was Working
Federal agents were running a targeted enforcement operation in Houston Tuesday morning.
They moved to stop a van driven by Lorenzo Salgado Araujo, an illegal immigrant from Mexico.
ICE says Salgado Araujo refused commands, tried to ram an agent's vehicle, then tried to run the agent over.
The agent fired his weapon. Salgado Araujo died.
Watters walked through the physical evidence before Tarlov could spin it. "The bullet holes are right through the front windshield," he said.
He said ICE's account has the car heading toward the officer, not away from him.
He said a review would determine whether the shooting was justified.
Then he asked the obvious question. Why was Salgado Araujo in the country in the first place?
Tarlov's answer: "He's working."
That was it. That was the defense.
Watters wasn't buying a job as an excuse for breaking immigration law. "He shouldn't be here, Jessica," he told her.
He pointed out Salgado Araujo wasn't even the target of the operation, and the whole encounter could have ended differently with one decision. "If they say pull over, pull over," Watters said.
He didn't stop there. Watters said the country has to accept a hard truth about enforcement operations involving people actively fleeing arrest, warning "there's going to be fatalities" when fugitives resist and run.
Watters Brings Up the Illegal Alien Walz Pardoned
Watters pivoted from Houston to the bigger picture, and it's the same argument he's made before.
He blamed Biden for four years of open borders. "Biden didn't even try," Watters said.
The real failure, he argued, wasn't just letting people in. It was refusing to send any of them back out.
Tarlov apparently thinks the fix is to let people stay until they commit a crime, then deport them.
Watters shredded that logic in real time, calling it "just an invitation for Latin America to break into the country."
He called it nonsense dressed up as policy.
Then Watters brought up the case that makes the Democrats' "we only want criminals gone" talking point collapse on contact: Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz's pardon of Tou Lue Vang, an illegal immigrant from Laos convicted of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 10-year-old girl.
DHS had Vang lined up for deportation. Walz and the Minnesota Board of Pardons wiped his conviction clean instead.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio had to personally step in weeks later to get him removed from the country anyway.
Watters didn't hold back. "Got pardoned by Tampon? I mean, what the hell? So he wouldn't get deported?"
Watters says Vang isn't the exception. He's the model for how sanctuary politicians operate.
Watters connected it to something bigger than one shooting or one pardon. He said Democrats didn't accidentally end up defending a historic wave of illegal immigration.
He said they need it, asking why bringing in a huge "foreign-born population" suddenly made Democrats "competitive" again.
New population, new voters, new districts. That's the theory, and Watters laid it out cold on national television while Tarlov sat there with nothing to offer back.
Tarlov didn't push back on the shooting, on Walz, or on why her own party keeps protecting the criminals it claims to want gone.
She couldn't. That's the whole problem Watters exposed in under five minutes on cable news, and it's the same problem Democrats will have to answer for every time an enforcement operation ends the way Tuesday's did in Houston.
