Portland Police Just Proved They Work for Antifa with This Outrageous Arrest

The mask just came completely off in Portland, Oregon.

After months of letting masked criminals run wild in their streets, police finally made an arrest that tells you everything you need to know about their priorities.

But instead of criminals, Portland police just arrested a conservative journalist in a move that exposes their real agenda.

When was the last time you saw Portland police move this fast to arrest anyone?

Certainly not when Antifa terrorists were burning down federal buildings or assaulting innocent people on the streets.

But outside the ICE facility, they couldn’t wait to slap handcuffs on Nick Sortor – a journalist whose only crime was being in the wrong place when chaos erupted.

According to the Portland Police Bureau’s own statement, officers observed fighting near the ICE building around 8:09 p.m.

Federal agents initially detained two people after what police called a scuffle, then released them when neither wanted to file reports.

But that wasn’t the end of the story.

Later that night, around 11:16 p.m., Portland’s Rapid Response Team swooped in and arrested three people on disorderly conduct charges.

One of them was Nicholas Sortor, 27, a Washington D.C.-based journalist who’d been documenting the ongoing siege of Portland’s ICE facility.

Witness accounts paint a very different picture than the sanitized police report.

The real story Portland police don’t want you to hear

C.K. Bouferrache was watching from a nearby rooftop when the incident unfolded.

Writing on X under the handle Honeybadgermom, she described what she saw: "Looked like @nicksortor got jumped. We are on the lower roof at ICE but difficult to tell exactly what happened at this distance. Portland liaison officers stand nearby and watch."

Read that again – Portland police officers stood nearby and watched while a journalist was apparently attacked.

But when the dust settled, who ended up in custody?

"I cannot believe they arrested this guy for defending himself," Bouferrache wrote in a follow-up post. "The woman that went after him has taken part in a few assaults this last week."

X user Mark Wilson captured video of Sortor being led away in handcuffs, writing: "Portland PD arrested @nicksortor tonight. Unclear why, as he wasn’t doing anything criminal. This comes after Portland police refused to arrest the lady who assaulted @KatieDaviscourt."

That reference to Katie Daviscourt reveals the stunning hypocrisy at the heart of this story.

While real criminals walk free, journalists get arrested

Just two days before Sortor’s arrest, Post Millennial reporter Katie Daviscourt suffered a vicious assault outside the same ICE facility.

A masked protester struck her in the face with a flagpole, leaving her with a black eye that she displayed during a Fox News interview with Jesse Watters.

"This Antifa-affiliated subject just started approaching me and waving a flagpole in my face, and then I kind of turn around and that’s when she swung it like a baseball bat and directly hit my eye," Daviscourt explained to Real America’s Voice host Jack Posobiec.

What happened next reveals everything wrong with law enforcement in Portland.

Daviscourt immediately sought help from Portland police officers who were standing just yards away.

She spent 35 minutes tracking the suspect through the streets, repeatedly pointing her out to officers and demanding they make an arrest.

Three Portland police officers watched this unfold and did absolutely nothing.

Their excuse? The suspect had fled to what they called an Antifa "safe house" and it was "too dangerous" to pursue her.

So let’s recap Portland’s law enforcement priorities: Too dangerous to arrest someone who commits assault with a deadly weapon, but plenty safe to arrest a journalist who got caught up in a street confrontation.

Before his arrest, Sortor was doing real journalism

Earlier that evening, Sortor had been posting live updates from the ICE facility, documenting both the pro-ICE supporters and the Antifa agitators.

"PATRIOTS have shown up outside the Portland ICE facility, holding up a sign saying ‘Thank you for your dedication & hard work!’ ‘We appreciate you!’ And of course, Antifa clowns are MELTING DOWN over it, yelling at them," Sortor wrote on X.

He also documented federal agents actually doing their jobs: "FAFO ALERT: A degenerate leftist just jumped onto federal property at the Portland ICE facility and CHALLENGED agents to ‘do something about it’ And they DID — QUICKLY Dude ended up on the pavement, arrested, and dragged into the facility Beautiful."

This is exactly the kind of reporting that drives Portland’s woke establishment crazy.

Sortor wasn’t pushing some corporate media narrative about "mostly peaceful protests."

He was showing Americans what really happens when federal law enforcement officers actually enforce the law – and when local police abandon their duties.

The bigger picture Portland officials are desperate to hide

President Trump has deployed 200 National Guard troops to Portland specifically to protect ICE facilities from what he correctly identifies as domestic terrorism.

The State of Oregon and City of Portland immediately sued to block the deployment, claiming federal overreach.

But the evidence is overwhelming that local authorities have completely lost control.

Independent journalist Andy Ngo documented how Antifa operatives whisked away Daviscourt’s attacker, writing: "Watch how coordinated Antifa are in whisking away an assault suspect who bashed @KatieDaviscourt on the face with a pole. @PortlandPolice refused to respond. The violent militants took the suspect into the Antifa safe house."

This isn’t random street violence – it’s organized political terrorism with the implicit blessing of Portland’s political leadership.

For months, journalists like Sortor and Daviscourt have been documenting this coordination while Portland police look the other way.

But the moment one of these journalists gets caught up in the chaos they’re reporting on, suddenly Portland police spring into action.

The message couldn’t be clearer

Portland’s arrest priorities tell you everything you need to know about who really runs that city.

Assault a conservative journalist with a flagpole? No problem – police will even help your friends spirit you away to safety.

Document federal agents doing their jobs? That’s journalism.

Get jumped while doing that journalism and end up in a confrontation? That’s apparently a crime.

The same Portland Police Bureau that spent months allowing "autonomous zones" and "protest camps" to operate with impunity suddenly becomes very concerned about "disorderly conduct" when it involves a conservative journalist.

Sortor was released without bond, along with Son Mi Yi of Portland, while Angela Davis of Vernonia, Oregon remained in custody.

But the damage to Portland’s already shot credibility is permanent.

Every American watching this should understand: In Democrat-controlled cities like Portland, your rights depend entirely on your politics.

Support Antifa terrorism? You get police protection.

Document that terrorism? You get handcuffs.

The only crime Nick Sortor committed was telling the truth about what’s happening in Portland – and apparently, that’s exactly the kind of crime Portland police are eager to prosecute.
